Doylestown Airport Picnic Honors Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Bucks County
Every year since 2000, the Bucks County Airport Authority (BCAA) and Doylestown Pilot Association (DPA) have hosted a picnic in honor of a local volunteer organization that has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the community. This year, BCAA and DPA chose to honor the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Bucks County.
“When you consider all that this organization has done for our community’s youth, it’s only fitting that they be recognized,” says Allen Black, Chairman of the BCAA Board.
The picnic drew dozens of Big Brother/Big Sister pairs as well as several members of its leadership and support team who turned out to enjoy good food, free airplane rides, camaraderie and perfect weather. Past honorees of this picnic have included Habitat for Humanity, Family Services of Bucks County, Central Bucks Ambulance, Angel Flights, Doylestown Fire Company #1, Milford Township Fire Department and Midway Volunteer Fire Company.
“We really enjoy the chance that this annual picnic affords us to personally thank the various community organizations,” says Michael Junod, President of the Doylestown Pilot Association. “Groups such as Big Brothers and Big Sisters really make this a wonderful community.”
