Doylestown Airport Picnic Honors Bucks County Housing Group
DOYLESTOWN, PA – A perfect summer evening set the tone for the recent community picnic at the Doylestown Airport. Hosted by the Bucks County Airport Authority (BCAA) and Doylestown Pilot Association (DPA), the event was held to honor Bucks County Housing Group (BCHG) for its long-standing commitment to the community. BCHG is a private, non-profit social service organization that provides a wide range of housing and related social services to homeless and low-income families.
“The Bucks County Housing Group is a great organization that does wonderful work for the community,” says John Mininger, chair of the BCAA board. “We’re very happy and proud to recognize their efforts.”
The picnic was held for volunteers and staff of the BCHG and their families. The event included picnic fare and free tours of airplanes. A table of food was also donated by the BCAA and DPA for the organization’s food pantries.
“We are one of the strongest advocates for the county’s working poor,” says Nancy Szamorski, executive director of BCHG. “It’s so nice of the Bucks County Airport Authority and Doylestown Pilot Association to host this picnic for the volunteers and staff who put so much work into serving our local community.”
Past honorees of the Doylestown Airport community picnic have included A Woman’s Place, Angel Flight, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Central Bucks Ambulance, Habitat for Humanity, Doylestown Fire Company #1 and Milford Township Fire Department.
